WHAT IS THE BEST KIND OF EXERCISE?
Ideally, you want an exercise program that involves continual activity but as little stress on your muscle and joints as possible. Walking, swimming, cycling, jogging, skating, and cross-country skiing are excellent. Tennis, basketball, dancing, and aerobic, too, but each involves periods of inactivity, which decreases aerobic value.
Try to find a form of excercise that you enjoy. Establishing a consistant pattern of workouts is essential to keeping God's temple free of sickness.
DIET AND BLOOD FAT LEVELS: WHAT YOU EAT CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
To decrease a high blood fat level, start with dietary changes. If your triglyceride level is significantly high, avoid alcohol. If you are overweight, trim down. Try to achieve a distinctly lean weight. Avoid simple sugars such as syrups, table sugar, and sugar-sweetened soft drinks.
If your primary problem is an increase in total or LDL cholesterol, avoid foods that are high in cholesterol and saturated fats. Decrease the total amount of fat in your diet, and increase the amount of complex carbohydrates (cereals, vegetables).
